"Welcome to Kingdom Scents, where our mission is to support individuals dealing with sensitivity to scents and skin sensitivities. I'm Terri, the proud owner and founder of Kingdom Scents.
In my early twenties, I received a life-changing diagnosis of not one, but two types of eczema. The first, the more common variety, brought with it the unpleasant companionship of dry, itchy skin and those dreaded dry patches. The second type, a rarer form known as dyshidrotic eczema, chose to make its presence known exclusively on my hands and feet. It started with a rash of painful, deep-seated blisters, known as vesicles, and was often accompanied by intense itching and burning sensations.
My journey to find relief led me to numerous dermatologists, but their approach was limited to prescribing chemical-laden hand creams. These creams offered temporary relief, but I had to use them sparingly to avoid potentially damaging my skin permanently. In addition to my eczema struggles, I also learned that I had extremely sensitive skin, which meant I had to avoid anything with fragrances or perfumes, opting for hypoallergenic products in every aspect of my life. It felt like I was condemned to smelling like nothing.
Even with these dermatologist-approved hypoallergenic products, I continued to grapple with the same issues – persistent blisters, dry patches, and the maddening itch that led to raw, irritated skin. Frustrated and determined to find a better solution, I began to explore the world of all-natural products. Gradually, I introduced my skin to these natural alternatives and found that they not only didn't irritate my skin but offered several unexpected benefits.
The earthy, natural fragrances not only soothed my skin when applied but also contributed to reducing stress, easing respiratory issues, promoting calmness, and enhancing sleep. It was a revelation. I had always doubted the possibility of enjoying perfumes without disturbing my senses or irritating my skin, but that skepticism had to be replaced with confidence. I had to inhale confidence in the idea that it was achievable and exhale all the doubts that it couldn't be done. I realized that I could find a solution; I just had to create it.
And so, Kingdom Scents was born – created with a purpose to help individuals who have walked in my shoes. Our aim is to empower people to say no to chemicals both on and within their bodies and to embrace a natural approach to personal fragrance.
